Mr. Lubaway brings a “bottom line” orientation to his services to health care providers over his 45+ years by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the financial results of operations. His experience includes numerous “find it and fix it” projects to improve revenue realization and cash flow. These projects typically involve identifying opportunities to improve revenue realization, developing an implementation strategy and working with clients to build their case for negotiating with third party payors to obtain improved payment.  He has significant experience with health care providers helping them transition new personnel and also improve financial operations.  Finance authorities frequently have called on Mr. Lubaway to evaluate the financial viability of troubled providers, identify feasible courses for performance improvement, and implement corrective actions.

Mr. Lubaway previously worked with Deloitte Touche and Plante & Moran as well as Botsford General Hospital, Mercy Hospitals, and Detroit Medical Center.  He is a graduate of University of Detroit School and a Fellow of HFMA.  He is also past president of the Eastern Michigan Chapter receiving a number of awards including national HFMA’s highest recognition – the Fredrick Morgan Award for lifetime contribution to healthcare in 2008.  He is also a non-practicing CPA.
